前言
每每观看张蒙的绘画,不由得想到的却是李清照的词,每一笔触,每一词藻,好似极尽细腻、具体而不动声色地描绘着景物的细枝末节,而满溢于作品的却是浓烈的真情,或悲、或喜,都无碍,引得你沉醉其中,感受自然与人迷醉交融的状态。
张蒙绘画的过程,对于色料的使用是细微而敏感的,甚至是吝啬而少量的,无论是水墨的温润、油画的细腻,色粉的颗粒感都是她连接身心的触点,也是她领悟世间真谛的媒介。她的画是抽象的,而她的情感却是如此生动、具象、可感的。街角不起眼的青苔,却激发了她早期“闻”系列的创作,青青的苔色随处可见,雨水敲打着树叶,声声入耳,绿而亮,细致又细密,在石阶上,在树根上,在藤蔓上……绘尽人生的风月无边。她的画作如她的人,白皙如玉的面庞,柔和温顺的绵延细语,她具有很多女性特质的美,而面对她尺幅巨大、气势磅礴的画作时,又能感受到其吸纳聚合着万物能量的内在,于是那画里的山河与画外的山河一起屹立与奔流,构成神与物游的文化意蕴,历久弥新。在中西合璧中,形成抽象山水的意象,浅读入境,深读入神,入境则神游,入神则魂合。在这里,山不是山,而是胸怀中的气势与壮阔;水不是水,而是内心深处的澎湃与昂扬,或静或动,都是生命的律动。
山水的抽象图式是无声的,张蒙却用这些笔触描画着有声的世界,此处无声胜有声,似中国的古诗词,低吟浅唱千般意,墨舞研词万种情,婉转而悠远,字里行间皆是美。观其画作,使我们在浮生与世俗中争渡、争渡,偷得半日闲,收获一份闲淡与清幽,有多难得?

The Floating World:Solo Exhibition of Zhang Meng
From my perspective, the paintings of Zhang Meng are prone to evoke the lyrics of Li Qingzhao, the master lyrist of Song Dynasty. Every stroke of the brush and every minimal expression in her works seem to be intended to capture the minor particulars in a most refined but concrete manner, yet with a seemingly detached attitude, whereas the works are brimming with intense emotion---be it sorrow or joy---which is intoxicating enough to carry you away into a rapture for the blissful blending of human with nature.
In her process of painting, Zhang Meng applies color subtly, sensitively, or even economically. The mild and humid sense of ink color, the delicacy of oil painting and the granularity of toner are all focal points that connect her body and soul to her creation, and the medium by virtue of which she construes the true essence of the world. Her paintings are abstract, but her emotions expressed in the paintings are vibrant, concrete and palpable. The inconspicuous moss that stealthily grows at the street corner is the inspiration for her early series of “Wen”. The green moss can be seen anywhere; the raindrops falling on the leaves sound pleasing to the ears; the leaves are green and shining; the rain looks like countless fine and thin thread, falling on the stone steps, the bear roots of trees and the vines ...... All these make up a picture of the boundless beauty of life and nature. Zhang Meng’s painting is just like her person who has fair and jade-like face, often uttering soft and mild whispers. She is featured with feminine beauty, yet when we look at her big-sized majestic paintings, we can perceive her intrinsic character that absorbs and pools together the strength of all things. The mountains and rivers, within and without her painting, seem to stand in parallel and run simultaneously, constituting the everlasting cultural implication of integrating the mental activity with the physical objects. By combining the eastern tradition and the western approach, she creates abstract landscape, which can catch your eyes at your first sight, then under your scrutiny, can enthrall your heart and soul. What is eye-catching may set free your imagination, and what is enchanting may resonate with the pulse of your soul. Here in the picture, the mountain is not merely the mountain, but also the embodiment of lofty sentiments; the water is no longer the water perse, but also the surging enthusiasm. Being static or dynamic, they are the rhythm of life.
The abstract schema of landscape is soundless, but Zhang Meng uses these brushstrokes to depict a ringing world. Silence speaks louder. Like in ancient Chinese poems, soft whisper and singing implies a lot, and ink and diction express feelings, with agreeable and lingering charms. The beauty resides between the lines. In the eyes of the beholder, her paintings give us a chance to enjoy some leisure time in the bustling earthly life. What a rare opportunity to be idle and free.
